Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Step 3: Warm the Tortillas
- To make the tortillas more pliable, warm them in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or microwave them for about 15 seconds, wrapped in a damp paper towel.
Step 4: Fill the Tortillas
- Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, folding in the sides as you go to prevent the filling from spilling out.
Step 5: Arrange and Bake
- Place the taquitos seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly spray the tops with olive oil or brush with melted butter for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the taquitos are crispy and golden brown.
Step 6: Serve
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or your favorite dipping sauce.
