* Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
Make the Brownies:
* In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, sour cream, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
* In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
* Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
* Stir in the mashed bananas, walnuts (if using), and chocolate chips (if using).
* Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake:
