2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Alfredo Sauce:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Fettuccine:
12 oz fettuccine pasta
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Extra Parmesan cheese for servingHow to Make Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo:
Step 1: Cook the Fettuccine:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Slice the chicken into strips or cubes.
Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring occasionally until it begins to simmer.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Combine the Pasta and Chicken:
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
Add the sliced chicken to the pasta and sauce, and stir to combine.
