Dark Old English Fruitcake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Check the cake occasionally. If it begins to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil.
Cool and Store:
Let the fruitcake cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, wrap it in parchment paper and store it in an airtight container.
For best results, let the fruitcake sit for at least 1 day to allow the flavors to develop. You can even wrap it and store it in the fridge for up to a few weeks!
