French Fries Toast: The Quick and Easy Recipe with Ham and Cheese
Potato toast is a simple and super delicious dish that even the little ones will love at home. It is ideal as a second course with a fresh salad or as a light and hearty individual dish for a quick dinner in front of the TV.
This is a clever recipe that is also a great way to use up leftover boiled potatoes from the night before, which can be done in just a few minutes. Simply boil the potatoes, peel them while still hot, then mash them and scoop the mash into a bowl. At this point, simply season the resulting mash with an egg, a pinch of salt and pepper and breadcrumbs, season everything with a few sprigs of chives and then use the prepared mixture to form many slightly flattened squares and add more breadcrumbs and close each one. Fill the second with thin slices of provola and cooked ham. The result is breaded morsels that can be grilled on a griddle until golden brown and eaten immediately while still piping hot and fragrant.
Crispy on the outside and soft and melting in the middle, potato toasts can also be served as an aperitif or eaten as an aperitif with other savory treats and a glass of Prosecco.
