500 ml of water (preferably demineralized)
2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide
1 tablespoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of Marseille soap
6 drops of lavender essential oil
These elements will be enough to obtain a perfect mattress every time you need it!
Baking soda is extremely effective for white fabrics, so it will be the ingredient of choice in such cases.
The same also applies to hydrogen peroxide, although in small quantities it manages to eliminate bacteria and mites. You will have to use the one in 10 volumes, or 3%.
Marseille soap will strengthen the cleaning action and perfume the mattress like never before!
Finally, lavender essential oil is perfect for reconciling sleep and strengthening the intoxicating scent that will spread over your mattress!
Method
Now let’s move on to the process!
First, dissolve the sodium bicarbonate in the water, then add the Marseille soap, possibly liquid or in flakes dissolved in a bain-marie.
At this point, add the hydrogen peroxide and essential oils, mix everything very well to make a single solution.
Finally, all you have to do is transfer everything to a spray bottle and that’s it! Your super scented spray is ready!
How to use
You can use the DIY spray for several things, let’s see some of them:
Remove stains from the mattress: it often happens that sweat, food residue or some drinks that leak leave stains that inevitably also penetrate the mattress. To solve the problem, you will have to spray the solution on a microfiber cloth and rub it on the mattress, then let it dry and it will come back clean!
Perfume before going to sleep: as mentioned above, sleeping on a scented and fresh bed is the best thing that can happen to us at the end of the day. So before going to sleep, spray the mixture on the mattress, keeping it at a safe distance, then let it evaporate and go to bed.
For yellow spots: How many times do you uncover the bed and find that the mattress has those nasty yellow spots? Well, you can say goodbye in no time! Simply spray the mixture on the affected area of the mattress, rub and rinse, then let it dry.
For bad odors: Often, especially if the mattress is not aired, it can happen that bad odors accumulate that are difficult to get rid of. The DIY spray is ideal for getting rid of the odor because it contains a concentrate of perfumes that will engulf the unwanted odors. Spray all over the mattress and always let it evaporate.
