4. Fatigue

If the kidneys are healthy, they produce EPO (erythropoietin), a hormone that makes more red blood cells that bring oxygen where it is needed. If the number of red blood cells decreases, fatigue occurs and this will impact the brain and also the muscles. This is also a sign of severe anemia.

5. Shortness of breath

This is a common problem, but it could be related to kidney damage. If the body does not have enough oxygen, it is because of the low number of red blood cells that deliver oxygen everywhere. The amount of these blood cells is related to the harmful toxins that build up in the lungs.

6. Metallic taste in mouth / metallic taste

The waste accumulated in the blood will change your taste for food and even cause bad breath all the time. Another sign of kidney damage is marked changes in food preferences or lack of appetite.
