Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Garlic
In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Cook the Noodles
Pour in the chicken broth and water. Bring to a boil, then add the egg noodles.
Reduce the heat to medium and cook the noodles for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Combine the Dish
Stir in the Parmesan cheese and heavy cream (if using) until well combined.
Return the chicken to the skillet, nestling it on top of the noodles. Heat for 2-3 minutes until warmed through.
