Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil.
Gently place the potatoes in the heated oil, cut sides down.
Add the salt and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, turn the potatoes over to cook the other side.
Separate the potatoes.
Using a paper towel, wipe the skillet clean.
After patting dry with paper towels, sprinkle salt and pepper over each steak piece.
Cook the steaks for about a minute on each side in a heated pan until they do not stick.
For a total of four minutes, flip the steaks over.
Add the butter to the pan with caution and turn the steaks once more.
