Skin tags: what do these growths on the skin mean?
How to remove a skin tag?
Although they are completely benign, skin tags can be a source of complexes and be considered unsightly. In some cases, their inconvenient location can cause discomfort, or even pain if they are subject to repetitive friction. Generally speaking, dermatologists advise removing these growths when their sensitivity bothers the person, when they develop in areas of friction such as the belt or bra strap, or when you often get caught in these pieces of skin and end up bleeding.
Over-the-counter treatment usually involves applying liquid nitrogen to the targeted area. However, this should be done under medical advice to ensure that it is indeed a skin tag. If treatment is prescribed by a healthcare professional, there are multiple options: cryotherapy, cauterization, surgical removal, or electrocoagulation.
