What is the blue part of the eraser (really) used for? No, it’s not to erase the pen The eraser remains a great classic in the list of school supplies. In particular the very popular double-sided model, pink and blue. The most nostalgic will certainly remember it since it is clearly part of our school memories. Until now, many people thought that the pink material erased pencil marks, while the darker side was rather intended to remove mistakes written with a pen. But is this a reality or just a myth? We will enlighten you more on this curiosity. What is the blue part of the eraser used for? Generally speaking, intrigued by this blue rubber material, most students have fun using it at school and at home. Obviously, some have realized that it is not really effective in removing pen marks. However, others are still very stubborn and struggle to try to prove that it works. So much so that most of them end up pressing so hard that they even tear their notebooks. Stop with preconceived ideas! This blue part does not have the ability to attack the pen. But then, what exactly is it used for? In truth, it has precisely the same purpose as the pink part: it is also used to erase the pencil, with the only difference being that it is recommended to use it on harder paper, such as a sheet of cardboard or Canson paper that is used for drawing. Indeed, the pink side of the eraser is made of a softer material and is therefore suitable for normal paper. While the blue area is stiffer and rougher, it is therefore much more suitable for erasing writing on solid materials where there is little risk of tearing. Moreover, it is even possible to use it on walls to remove scribbles from young children. Read more on next page
And, precisely, how to prevent it from getting dirty?
To make your eraser last longer and to ensure that you have no problem using it, you must take into account certain recommendations to always keep it clean.
·Keep it away from pencils and colored pencils, because the dust from these supplies could easily dirty it. Also, do not leave it next to the markers without a cap, which could damage it at the slightest movement.
·Keep the eraser in an isolated corner of the pencil case. This will prevent it from being exposed to pen ink, harmful materials or dust.
